Zagreb, GUS and Jean-Pierre Dirick

GUS (Global Universal Symphony) is a musical and artistic initiative promoted and conceived by Claudio Melotto to support Art Science and Awareness, an international relevant project aiming at the constitution of research and training schools for new skilled people from any countries of the world and in every field of Visual and Expressive Arts.

Processing and spreading centre of such well-constructed proposal is Prague, hometown of the musician Antonin Dvorak, where a society between Claudio Melotto and the grandson of the great Czech musician, Antonin Dvorak III was founded. GUS had the real source of inspiration in Dvorak’s Symphony From the New World, composed in 1893 during his American stay and performed the first time in New York.

The project of a universal symphony started since the nineties. Today GUS, thanks to the work of Maestro Mauro Paoluzzi, merged two pieces coming from far different music generations such as the Symphony From The World and The Beatles Across The Universe, but artistically melt together to the space conquer. The Symphony From The New World indeed was taken with the Mission Apollo 11 to the Moon in 1969, whereas NASA beamed the Beatles song to the North Star last 4th February to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its founding. The GUS project began his promotional tour in July by Uno Mattina tv show on the Italian RAI channel as Red Cross gala event and of the Michelangelo Awards giving on 27th July, though such idea had already been growing long time back in the mind of President Claudio Melotto, as well as performed in the “Sleepless Night” event organized by the Genoa city council last 12th September.

GUS started as musical project and soon became the set logo of creative activities in line with the aim of building art and science global villages where new excellences can train free of political, social, economical and ideological constraints.

GUS is the soundtrack of a project with targets:

1) Cultural formation of youth
2) Promotion of a global peace idea
3) Overcoming of the differences and achievement of a very integration through arts and culture promotion
4) Support of an idea by Ethical Economy

GUS is a logo standing for

1) Musical formation
2) Artistic formation through co-operation with sculpture laboratories “Studi d’Arte Cave Michelangelo” in Carrara, once again proving the worldwide importance of the Italian artistic traditions.
3) Building of training centres focused on animation and cinematography, assigned to the French cartoonist Jean-Pierre Dirick, who renounced his rights of the “Inspector Klebs” comics translations in view of the project realisation.
4) Remembering the past and the shared values through revaluation of important historical sites.
